Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment

Under the WEEE Regulations issued in January 2007, Tooland Fix Online is classified as a distributor and we are therefore obliged to provide information on the disposal of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment

  • As the customer, you are encouraged to examine your electrical waste before throwing it away and in particular look for the rating plate and if the following symbol is present you must not throw it in your household waste.

  • Under new regulations we are all obliged to ensure that the amount of waste on certain electrical and electronic equipment is separated from household waste. When WEEE is collected separately it can be treated to remove chemicals and metals in these electrical items which can be harmful to the soil and human health when disposed of in landfill sites.
  • When the hazardous substances are removed a large amount of waste can be recycled. By working together we can all reduce the amount of landfill and resulting contamination.

Please take this waste to your nearest Designated Collection Facility (DCF) where special facilities exist for correct disposal. To find your nearest DCF please visit the following web site: www.recycle-more.co.uk.

Type in your post code and the locations of the nearest DCFs will be displayed.

Batteries

Please do not dispose of household portable batteries in your household waste.

You can take them to any special battery collection box at your local supermarket at no cost (excludes car and industrial batteries).
